Fashion lovers, designers, models and buyers are invited to join us on Thursday, September 7th at 8pm for On the Buy Side: a conversation about the fashion world from the buying perspective. 

In honor of fashion week, we invite Parlor & Omar's members and guests to join us for an insightful discussion about the buying end of the fashion business.

On September 7th at 8pm Annika Connor sits down with Barneys buyer Delia Folk and PAMPLEMOUSSE founder and designer Danica Zheng. 

The night’s discussion will be an informative dialogue exploring fashion from the buying perspective. Key points for designers and brands to keep in mind will be discussed, and questions regarding marketing and sales strategies will be addressed. 

The evening’s event is intended to be a participatory discussions between the audience and industry makers. All invited are encouraged to come with questions and comments to add to the dialogue. 

Artist and Actress Annika Connor will moderate the discussion, and a mix and mingle fashion networking hour will conclude the conversation.

Delia Folk: Associate Buyer in Women's Jewelry at Barneys New York

Delia Folk is an Associate Buyer in Women's Jewelry at Barneys New York. She interned in Men's Wholesale at Versace during college. She has been at Barneys for 3 years and has worked in Women's Cosmetics, RTW & Jewelry. She also has a fashion lifestyle blog, deliafolk.com, which features her experience navigating one's 20s in today's world. This is a career resource for fashion professionals featuring interviews with industry figures and highlights emerging trends & designers.

Danica Zheng: founder and designer of PAMPLEMOUSSE

PAMPLEMOUSSE was founded in 2015 by Danica Zheng in downtown New York. 

Born into a Chinese family, Danica Zheng was raised in Singapore where she soon developed an appreciation and natural talent for Art. After attending architecture school in California at USC, she decided to move to New York City to attend Parsons for fashion design, where she continued to hone her skills. While in school, she interned for various major fashion houses including Narciso Rodriguez, Carolina Herrera. All of which experiences led her to jumping start her career as a designer at Calvin Klein Collection fresh out of school.  

In 2015, Zheng founded Pamplemousse in downtown New York. Always keeping an open mind and looking out for beauty, she draws inspiration from unexpected places to combine with her own vision. The designer believes in paying attention to details in the engineering of thoughtful and meaningful designs. She is dedicated to creating precious pieces with a touch of humor that awaken every woman's inner voice.

*Please note: Parlor & Omar’s are private members clubs and all members and guests will be required to wear either formal attire, or upscale / business casual attire. Guests seeking entrance who are underdressed may be denied access.
