Spinning the Social Storms: Navigating the Negative Side of Digital Days

Parlor & Omar's Members and guest are invited to join Annika Connor, Arielle Patrick, and Billy Peck on at 8pm on August 24th, 2017 at Omar's as they discusses the dark side of the digital era. 

Topics to be discussed include: overcoming the Twitter trolls, what to do when press portrays you negatively, how to personally stay positive, and tricks for turning around your digital image. 

Arielle Patrick is a Director in the Corporate Crisis & Issues Management division at global PR agency Weber Shandwick. She provides counsel to public and private companies on all-stakeholder communications strategies for financial special situations. Areas of focus include: litigation, mergers & acquisitions, bankruptcy / restructuring, and others. Arielle also advises hedge funds and private equity firms. In her spare time, she sits on the Board of the Yellowstone Park Foundation; is Chair of the National Audubon Society's New York Young Members; serves on the Leadership Council for the Special Olympics of New York; the Young Patrons Leadership Committee for the American Friends of the Louvre; and is Fundraising Chair of the Alumni Board for the Princeton Tigerlilies (acapella group). Arielle is a graduate of Princeton University (class of 2012), and has been twice featured in Forbes. 

Billy Peck is an Actor based in NYC. He has appeared on shows like Quantico, Gotham and most recently, Love Connection on FOX. After an unflattering magazine article went viral and painted him as "NYC's Most Undateable Man", he's hopeful that his personal experience can help others navigate the tricky world of press, social media and the internet while simultaneously staying positive and focused

The night's discussion will include a Q & A moderated by Artist/Actress Annika Connor. The conversation will include dialogue with the audience and participation and questions from the atendees will be highly encouraged.
